In the wake of the Category 5 Hurricane Ian in October 2022, hundreds of destroyed vessels littered the waterways of Southwest Florida. These vessels were displaced or destroyed by the storm and washed up on land and seawalls, tangled in docks and mangroves, or sunk to the bottom. First Line staff is assisting with the clean-up efforts by providing construction oversight and logistical support for the removal of vessels in Charlotte and Lee Counties. The work is being administered by the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) and a host of consulting firms and marine contractors.
